Clouds – Poem of the Month – April 2023

Clouds

flocculent clouds
puffed in the sky
giant marshmallows
tempting the eye

an east wind moving them
beyond the line of vision
dividing the horizon
with a precise incision

sun covered momentarily
perhaps making a prediction
only to reappear
with courage of its conviction

as twilight arrives
at its inevitable time
Nature’s shift begins
its internal rhyme

Love the way you captured those friendly clouds, they will not bring any rain.

Clouds are such pouffy imaginariums … and the rhyme here tides the way they do across the sky.

I love the rhythm in this piece- much like nature’s song. It’s beautiful, Christine.

Lovely poem Christine, beautiful writing!! 🙂 I invite you to come read my OLN offering tonight on my site — and to experience my wife Kathy’s profound love affair with nature, which is currently hampered by her newly discovered cancer. She goes into the UW Fred Hutch Cancer Center April 22nd for a multi-hour regimen of robotics surgery on her neck and throat area. Post Op will put her in ICU for Four days. Please keep Kathy, my love, in your thoughts. Thank you… ✌🏼🕊🫶🏼❣️
