Scars and secrets
layers of inflicted pain
Invisible to prying eyes
Never to understand
the burden of their weight
To carry such load
that could mask agonies
yet fear reprisal for
There but for grace go you

Unfortunately so 😢
That grace, when given, can become another burden.
Yes there always seems to be a price.
Those are my burdens, there is no ‘other’ by grace, indeed

Reminds me that as we look at others, we never truly know the burdens they carry, even if they tell us about them. And many choose not to tell the secrets, the trials, they carry with the. The ending line is powerful.
Indeed Lillian. Walk in someone else’s shoes is almost a mantra for me. I implore everyone to do that before casting a stone, so to speak. Empathy is everything. ☺️💕
