Running Out Of Time – A Quadrille

Running Out Of Time

Minute by minute
and hour by hour
Twelve hours
and then twelve more
A day and then another
And so it goes
On and on
The never-ending
circle of hands on
the face of a clock
Time stopping for no man
Elusive and uncatchable

Never enough time and less and less as you get older to fit in all you want to do and a bottle of Jim Croce’s recipe would sure be nice…

    Time certainly is elusive!
(Time in a Bottle was the song my husband and I danced to at our wedding.)

It seems that as we get older time speeds up and we do seem to be running out of time. I used to enjoy the longs days of childhood and being bored for some of it – which apparently is good for you. You seem to have captured time in your quadrille, Christine.

Oh I love the time of your poem. Like time this implies hurry too.

Thanks Sadje. As we get older, we worry about running out of time! ☺️💕
