Spread your boughs wide and encircle me with your span May your soft leaves gently caress and comfort me Protect me with your size and calm my nerves with your strength Feed and nourish me with your fruits and keep my secrets safe with your wisdom Copyright © 2022 Christine Bolton - Poetry for Healing All Rights Reserved Sarah from Sarahsouthwest is hosting D'Verse and has prompted us with The Strange Houses of Lee Madgwick. I chose the one called The Embrace.
Butterfly fluttering Impossible to hear the delicate beauty of the moment But senses are touched by the gentleness of the vision The imagination captured and carried away on those wings Scattered thoughts up in the air bouncing from one flower to another Stopping but for a moment before moving on How freeing to not linger! No time given to dwell on tasks that bind us to reality Released from duties and obligations weighing heavily Oh please, just for one day, let me be a butterfly Copyright © 2021 Christine Bolton - Poetry for Healing All Rights Reserved Sanaa from A Dash Of Sunny is hosting Open Link Night, Live Edition at D'Verse Poets
Cumulus clouds congregating High in the blue sky Forming fluffy puffs of cotton Constantly moving, changing shape Abraham Lincoln holds a sheep While the dog’s head grows in size Eventually becoming a whale Daydreaming in the sun’s warmth Letting the mind be curiously creative Copyright © 2021 Christine Bolton - Poetry for Healing All Rights Reserved De Jackson, aka Whimsy Gizmo, is hosting Monday Quadrille at D'Verse Poets tonight and has prompted us to write a quadrille with "Curious" Image by koon boh Goh from Pixabay
In my darkness there is light from the flames that you have doused with the oil of discontent A fire rages Burning fury In my fiery furnace I imagine a snake-like neck Twisting, elongating as a corkscrew pulling your heart through your head before it explodes Scorched words of contrition fly from your mouth and lay burning on the ground Until all that remains are ashes of what you once were Copyright © 2020 Christine Bolton - Poetry for Healing All Rights Reserved Sanaa is hosting D'Verse Poets tonight and has prompted us with Gothic Poetry. For today’s Poetics, I would like you to write a Gothic poem and explore the question: “Which according to you are the deepest, darkest and most concealed of human emotions?” Image by Rudy and Peter Skitterians from Pixabay
Hypnotic sounds calling in silver from sitar strings Following though forests of jade jewels Arms stretched wide clutching as rainbows slip through hands Crimson-pink quavers trail from fingertips Words of grey float on clouds scratched into purple sky The rusty refuge sunken deep into monotone memories as a finale of spinning cymbals of gold crash land on symphony’s saffron strands Copyright © 2020 Christine Bolton - Poetry for Healing All Rights Reserved Grace is hosting D'Verse Poets tonight and has prompted us with part two of Synesthesia. Today we will incorporate music in our poem from the perspectiveof a synesthete. Create your own Symphony. Infuse your musical experience when listening to a band, artist or musical genre, with colors, sounds & textures. Write a song filled with colors. I was inspired by "Tomorrow Never Knows" by the Beatles from their Revolver album. It is 'trippy' and easy to conjure up colors and movement. Word Prompts Refuge - FOWC Jade - RDP
