Threads of moonlight streaming across the night sky weaving an intricate web of light Spilling into the darkness, creating A reflection into my mind’s eye and teasing my sight
The bank of mist that was hovering just above the sea, short-lived and disappearing as it reached the land Revealing upright rocks reminiscent of lady fingers on a charlotte cake made from sand
What visions play out in imagination when blackness becomes white or hidden becomes seen Mesmerizing, proffering thoughts for consideration and anticipating the excitement of what will glean

A droplet of rain trickled down the window pane The sky had darkened and the light began to wane Thoughts of the day relived again in her head Shuddering she turned back towards the bed
Sleep would remedy all and she craved the escape Time to heal and repair and her life to reshape The room felt dark and oppressive Trapping her somewhere in between and just then the sun smiled through a crack in the silkscreen
She saw a bluebird on a bough Calling to her sweetly in song A white ribbon tied to it Stretching towards her, quite long Taking hold of its tether They went together across the field She and the bluebird of happiness On the way to being healed

She walked slowly and deliberately crossing the path of no one Her hair like spun sugar Almost caramelized In the early morning sun
The day was beginning making its glorious entrance bringing lightness to her day The remains of the previous night Little more than bad memories slowly slipping away
Darkness had consumed her blackening her heart Stealing her soul Wretched and angry She fought hard to escape the tenebrous hole
Kissed by the solar energy her thoughts now clear She shook off the shroud releasing the negativity that was consuming her Letting it drift up to the clouds
Weary as your scapegoat I search for a sanctuary Needing solace to heal my thoughts, now fragmentary A place where I may weep with no fear of scorn Having lost self-respect and for that I mourn
Stillness and peace comfort me here Being lost in the stillness not missing the fear My thoughts uninterrupted bringing needed serenity Finding myself again after losing identity
A small haven where no one goes My heart can regenerate its love, as tension slows Meditation brings relief as I look back at my soul I can see clearly now Once again, I am whole
As the snow melted in early spring I finally find a voice with which to sing Buried deep underground with my crushed dreams I suffocated there where no one heard my screams
My instinct was to be free Away from this wretched grave An inhospitable prison where I had been a slave Pushing the earth upwards my soul was set free No longer indebted and never more your devotee
