Just a Matter of Time

Just a Matter of Time

It was sorcerous how she got there
Touching the stone thinking of a forebear
She was sent way back in time
To a place long before
Finding a love she wished for
Feeling like it was a crime

Living a life two centuries in yesteryear
Forgetting a husband once so dear
A fabulist weaving stories in her head
In the two lives she had dwelt
Once with a Briton and once with a Celt
Would either one believe a shred

Life full of magical fantasy
So far from her reality
A handsome warrior and protector
He had stolen her heart
How could they now ever part
For she had drunk his nectar

Reluctantly one day she returned
But the love she left there was spurned
The present was lost to her forever
The past called her to regress
To the highlands of tartan dress
She vowed to get there whenever

Lifting the hem of her frock
She scrambles up the rock
Stopping at the circle of stones
As she touches the granite
She begins to understand it
Feeling a shiver in her bones

She passes through time
Falling and tumbling in rhyme
Looking for the same track
To that time of long ago
Where she had dared to go
Now wishing to go back

Would he still be waiting there
Or would he forswear
Rejecting her devotion
Could he believe her story
Or see it as an allegory
or some foolish notion

Time really did stand still
She thought falling down the hill
It just won’t wait for any man
She felt fierce in commitment
Not fearing embarrassment
Vowing only that she can

Primal

Primal

As I look into your eyes

Listening to whimpering cries

I know I am smitten

Nothing can spoil

or attempt to foil

Because it has been written

From my strength you draw

life’s blood in your claw

as you take shelter

But the lies and conceit

will always repeat

Know that in hell you will swelter

For you I will fight tigers

And deal with the liars

In order to insulate

I promise to keep you safe

Until my hands are chafe

My life’s work to facilitate

Your beauty is brilliant

Your body resilient

You are surely tough

A blast from the skies

In rain it cries

No umbrella is enough

My love will you protect

and never neglect

as long as I do live

I’ll shelter you from harm

your enemies disarm

and forever forgive

Faraway

Faraway

Faraway in my dreams
You wait for me here
We kiss in sunlight
and then you disappear

You come and go
whenever I wish
Never staying long
Swimming away like a fish

Playfully you are the wind
Blowing up my dress
Water splashing me
Gently like a caress

Sometimes I hide
And you have to go seek
Running down the beach
While I admire your physique

My fantasy is
one day you’ll stay
Then you’ll be mine forever
and no longer faraway

Musical Notes – Tanka

Musical Notes

Staring at the moon

Looking for answers to life

Like a lover scorned

The soulful cello awoke

Your essence was there once more

In responce to OctPoWriMo Challenge Notes – a Tanka

The challenge suggested using notes that we keep to prompt our writing.  I always have the sound of the cello in my head and had made some notes about how it made me feel.

Mine

Mine

The feeling was involuntary
Impossible to hold back
Encompassing my body
In a gradual attack

Filling my heart with love
To be poured over you
In sensual oils to massage
And the kiss of morning dew

Tied in silk ribbons
Your limbs I will bind
So you will stay forever
Lady Justice is blind

Muse

Muse

Beauty surrounding me
Bringing peace and harmony
Mesmerized by the silence
I’m embraced by your charm
As if protected from harm
I float in your abeyance

Becoming your muse
Your palette of hues
Will paint my life story
With each brush stroke
Oh, the fantasies you invoke
Together we write the allegory

Our existence is enthralling
I feel my body trembling
Ignited with your desire
I can surmount the highest peak
Where the view resplendent
and live life as if on fire

The dramas of the day
Suddenly melt away
Comfort in your positive energy
Strength from your open arms
Soothing my never ending qualms
A perfect synergy

Without you I would be lost
Stay with me at all costs
We are bound together forever
Filling my soul with elation
You are my salvation
I will go with you wherever

Trespass

Trespass

Your migration into my heart
is a violation of the sweetest kind
I can barely concentrate
I am going out of my mind

In the rubric of my desires
you appear so many times
The quintessential lover
Committing the ultimate crime

Weekend writing prompt #72 from Sammi Cox – 12 words

Shell

Time

Time

Time placed in a bottle
Saved for a rainy day
Remembrances sweet
A familiar scent
Jogging a memory
A feeling of foreplay

Slowing down
To savor the taste
Of delicious sentiments
Dancing in the mind
Toying with the senses
Having thoughts unchaste

Traveling back to that time
Bringing certain joy to the heart
Much younger then
The world was one’s oyster
The pearl for the taking
Lovers never to part

The hotel old and quaint
Room number 5
Overlooking the square
Lovemaking in the afternoon
Sipping on wine
Never felt more alive

Back in the present
Putting the photograph away
Pushing the time
Back in the bottle
Keeping the memory safe
Until it rains another day
