One Liner Wednesday – Hurry Up!

Today I was at the grocery store and the self-serve registers were all busy so I stood in line at a regular check out. There was just one lady in front of me and she was about done. Well I thought she was. Right as the cashier swiped the the last item and hit the total button, the lady started talking about where she was from, and what is was like way back when, blah blah blah. Of course the cashier paid absolutely no attention to the growing line behind me. They were having a good old time jawing away like a couple of cackling hens. Then, just when I thought she was finished and about to pay, she pulled out a check book. Who does that these days? Not only was it a check she wanted to write, it was an out of state check. Arghhhhh! 😦 Need I say more? I left my items on the conveyer belt and walked out.

One Liner Wednesday – Cooking Lesson

I have always enjoyed cooking but have never attended classes. I learned the basics from my mother growing up and then as an adult it was all about experimentation and following trends. So without any formal training this is what I do when the recipe calls for ‘reducing the wine’ Am I wrong? What do you do?

One Liner Wednesday – Reflection

On reflection, and as we get older, do you find there are always a lot of “what if” statements that come to mind? I try not to do it because what’s the point? There are no do-overs in this life but it would be fun just to imagine how life could have been knowing then what we know now. Don’t you agree?

One Liner Wednesday – And The Diet Goes On

Being a poetry blog I attract a certain kind of reader. I regard lyrics as poetry and like to participate in Song Lyric Sunday each week because I enjoy researching the origin of songs and the emotion behind the lyrics. There I find a different kind of reader. One Liner Wednesdays, on the other hand, are my release and I look for some humor each week rather than trying to impress with something profound. I have discovered that whenever I go down the road of dieting I attract a completely different reader. I wonder who will visit today. Welcome everybody and I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

This is a pretty good excuse if your looking for one!

One Liner Wednesday – Get Smart

This week I will share something about myself with you. I am not a lover of network TV, preferring cable or streaming. Apart from the local news, I only watch one show without fail and that is Jeopardy. I have always had a thirst for knowledge and have been hooked on it for years! No gimmicks, no fancy cars to be won, just straightforward intelligence. Do you watch it too? Anyway I came across a one liner this week and thought it was pretty cool. More people should try it, don’t you think?

One Liner Wednesday – Alexa Knows Everything

Sometimes its funny when Siri suddenly starts talking to you thinking we are asking her for something and we haven’t even said a word. It seems to happens to my husband more than me but I always get a kick out him wandering around the house saying ”Shut up Siri.” He’s obviously talking to himself and that’s why she answers him, although he will never admit it.

I don’t own an Alexa so I haven’t really had much experience with her so when I came across this the other day I had to laugh out loud. If Alexa did live in my house she would probably be doing this frequently and I’d have a well stocked liquor cabinet!

One Liner Wednesday – Bite Me!

Do you sometimes find yourself so exhausted at the end of the day and wonder why? You’re likely spending way too much time bending and twisting to please other people. It is something I know I am guilty of but just can’t seem to stop.

I found this one liner today and wanted to share it. Good idea right?
