This week’s Song Lyric Sunday – by Helen Vahdati called for a song with the word SPEAK.
I remember this one from No Doubt called “Don’t Speak” Hope you enjoy it.
LYRICS
Don’t Speak
Loneliness cuts deep
Into the human psyche
Leaving lasting scars

This time I will not buckle
My head is held high
I don’t have to listen to
Your angry words
That cause me to cry
This time I will succeed
I will stand up to you
No more make up
This time we break up
I cannot see this through
This time I will not give you
A platform on which to strand
You play both the victim
And the dictator
Delivering a back hand
This time I will not duck
Your words disguised as knives
I deflect them fearlessly
No scars this time
This cat has many lives
This time you’re not the man I love
You are someone unrecognizable
Nasty, accusatory and untruthful
Spewing your aggression
My pain is undeniable
This time it is different
I bear no fault for your behavior
Arrogance unbecoming
I am striving for freedom
Look elsewhere for a savior
This time I look ahead
Old feelings are obsolete
Eyes front and center
There’s no looking back
This chapter is now complete

Word Prompts:
Here are a few photos taken with my iPhone while out running. I’m making a concerted effort to capture pictures of things I would normally not stop and take in. There is inspiration everywhere in beautiful nature. My intention is to post some photos at the end of each week.
A big thanks again to Cyranny’s Cove and her After Eight Moments for the inspiration to begin this project. She has some great photos so be sure to check them out.
I would love to just sit on one of these very
low hung branches in the shade
What a great oak tree to have in your front yard!
I saw this Blue Heron just paddling in the pond
A beautiful sunset over the Bay
Enjoy your day and keep your eyes wide open!
Christine
Suddenly you left
Taking pieces of my heart
Leaving me broken

Today I have appreciation
For this life I live
Even when at times I am melancholy
There is still is so much to give
With suffering all around
It’s easy to turn the other way
Thankful for our own good fortune
Maybe we can help another day
Let me walk in your shoes
At least for today
I want to feel your anguish
Perhaps your pain I can defray
Kindness is a currency of gold
Costing nothing to share
Reaching out to the less fortunate
Relieving them of despair
Mirth is not only for the prosperous
Those suffering also need relief
Remember somewhere in your past
You too suffered with grief

Originally the brain child of A Guy Called Bloke , I thank Kristian from Tales from the Mind of Kristian for inviting me to participate in another 3-2-1 Challenge. Please check out his site and read some super short stories and poems.

Just a few days ago, July 17, was World Emoji Day so today’s 3-2-1 Challenge Word “Expression” was timely. Love them or hate them, we all seem to use them!
When we used to write real letters, they were heartfelt and our words were used wisely so there was no misunderstanding. We cherished them, reread them, tied them in ribbons and saved them in shoeboxes. I still have some of mine and spent an hour a few weeks ago going through them again. It made for a very special moment bringing back lots of memories.
These days, unfortunately, we rarely write letters on paper. We squash our words into emails, texts and twitter, limiting what we actually want to say. Just to be sure we don’t upset, offend or hurt the recipient of the literary masterpiece, we add emojis here and there to express ourselves so they will hopefully understand our social media shorthand. I am as guilty of it as anyone else but I think it’s really quite 😥.
Being a tactile person I have always enjoyed paper, books, written materials, that I can touch and smell, and loved writing and receiving letters. Fortunately I still can do that. I hope they don’t disappear too soon!
Here are a couple of expressions, not emojis, that amuse me and I share them with you.
I nominate the following bloggers.
This is challenge of choice and you do not have to respond by any deadline or you don’t have to participate at all.
It’s all just good fun! 😊👍✌️
Enjoy your day!
