That’s Charming!

That’s Charming!

She could charm the pants off anyone who would listen
Even went to charm school without paying tuition

In all likelihood she’ll probably find a Charmer
He’ll sweep her off her feet and become her partner

I am the most charming and choice number three
Three times is a charm so it might as well be me

Lucky charm around my neck, charms on a bracelet jingling
Plenty of Southern Charm, ladies never sweat, they’re glistening

Things come in threes and you can live a charmed life
Prince Charming came along, charmed, I am sure, to be his wife

Bjorn is hosting D'Verse Poets tonight and has prompted us with
Anapestic Tetrameter. It means that we have four stressed syllables
on each line (so each line has twelve syllables). It is a form
mastered by Dr. Seuss.
For this exercise I reworked an old poem I had filed under humor
and hope it works. I'm sure you'll let me know!!
Bjorn also gave us a little free rein with the syllables!

Beauty surrounding me
Bringing peace and harmony
Mesmerized by the silence
I’m embraced by your charm
As if protected from harm
I float in your abeyance

Becoming your muse
Your palette of hues
Will paint my life story
With each brush stroke
Oh, the fantasies you invoke
Together we write the allegory

Our existence is enthralling
I feel my body trembling
Ignited with your desire
I can surmount the highest peak
Where the view resplendent
and live life as if on fire

The dramas of the day
Suddenly melt away
Comfort in your positive energy
Strength from your open arms
Soothing my never ending qualms
A perfect synergy

Without you I would be lost
Stay with me at all costs
We are bound together forever
Filling my soul with elation
You are my salvation
I will go with you wherever
