Dangerous Dance – A Quadrille

Dangerous Dance

What is this strange dance
that we always do
Where we circle each other like prey
Staring in silence
Strategizing and preparing
for the inevitable outcome
Throwing verbal darts
while we sidestep and taunt
until one eventually falls
unceremoniously
from the tracks of life

Under The Moonlit Sky

Under The Moonlit Sky

Dance with me
Under the moonlit sky
Hold me tightly
while we spin in circles
and my heart flies high

Dance with me
under the moonlit sky
Around and around
your arms hold me
as you gaze in my eyes

Dance with me
under the moonlit sky
free in motion
like a flowing tide
of teardrops to cry

Dance with me
under the moonlit sky
The essence of night
lingers in this moment
making me sigh

Dance with me
under the moonlit sky
The music must go on
for I am not ready
to say goodbye

Bjorn is hosting D'Verse Poets tonight and has prompted us with The Waltz
and is looking for a light-hearted rhythm of the words.

Dance with Me

Dance With Me

Dance with me
to music only I can hear
hold me tight
so I have no fear
Dance with me
by the sea shore
wait and listen
for the waves' roar

Dance with me
on the cliff’s edge
Staring down
from the rocky ledge
Dance with me
in the silvery moonlight
That I may look at you
past the stroke of midnight

Dance with me
and turnover your heart
I am your muse
We must never part
Dance with me
around this world
It is now the time
for wings to be unfurled
