Rocky Road

Rocky Road

Safe
surrounded
by these
ancient boulders
Infused
by their
energy
Calmed
by their
smoothness
Coddled
by their size
Protected
from harm
Peacefully
resting
Mentally
nourished
Ready to resume
the journey

Muse

Muse

Beauty surrounding me
Bringing peace and harmony
Mesmerized by the silence
I’m embraced by your charm
As if protected from harm
I float in your abeyance

Becoming your muse
Your palette of hues
Will paint my life story
With each brush stroke
Oh, the fantasies you invoke
Together we write the allegory

Our existence is enthralling
I feel my body trembling
Ignited with your desire
I can surmount the highest peak
Where the view resplendent
and live life as if on fire

The dramas of the day
Suddenly melt away
Comfort in your positive energy
Strength from your open arms
Soothing my never ending qualms
A perfect synergy

Without you I would be lost
Stay with me at all costs
We are bound together forever
Filling my soul with elation
You are my salvation
I will go with you wherever

Impasse

Impasse

The fragility of the moment
causes me to stop
where I am
Another word, another step
could break the dam

We glossed over the issues
Copious amounts of energy
devoted to the cause
Nothing was resolved
I break for a pause

No palette for your indignation
I ignored the caustic remarks
The recurring theme
exhausting and
inevitably there will be sparks

So where do we go
having reached this point
We are at an impasse
Perhaps I’ll move to the boondocks
Where greener the grass

Lagging

Lagging

Tiredness came swiftly
Smothering
Laying heavy on my eyes
and limbs
Suppressing efforts of revival
A deep state
Encompassing

Feeling grubby and unclean
Exhausting
Succumbing to sleep
Dramatic and deep
Eccentric Dreams
Teasing

Body failing to adjust
Confusing
Brightness of mind
Wins over darkness of night
Fully awake
Rejuvenating

Mind now alert
Conflicting
Energy is lowered
Limbs cannot move
Mind is willing but flesh is weak
Frustrating

Balance

Faces forming in the clouds
Evanescent in the billowing shroud
Colors brilliant at the end of the day
Pinks and blues give way to oranges and grey

Salty spray upon the face
Murmuring waves rolling without a trace
Windblown feathers of the hawk
Spirits of the ocean talk

Energy of the water runs deep
Crying souls succumbed to final sleep
Undulating strength of a million years
Cumulating in a sea of tears

Ancient trees stand witness to it all
Ringed with age, strong and tall
Mountains jagged and insurmountable
Standing close and almost touchable

Beauty abounds but at what cost
Take it now it will soon be lost
Reenergize the human being
This life of yours is worth living

Chakras tell the story
Where you might lose your glory
Balance life as nature does perfect
Or suffer the consequential effect
