Just two days to Christmas. Any other year I would be feeling excited and looking forward to having family together and celebrating the holidays. This time last year who would have thought we would be experiencing a full-blown world-wide pandemic, wearing masks and confined to our homes apart from necessary outings to the food store. Many would be unemployed, broke, destitute and lining up for food handouts. Hundreds of thousands would be dead. It’s shocking.
COVID 19 has touched all of us and my heart goes out to each and every one of you. I hope you and your family stay strong and healthy this holiday season and the spirit of Christmas, which is basically celebrating the joy of life and sharing with each other, will be with you and give you strength.
With that said, I share with you a funny Gary Larsen cartoon that I hope brings a smile to your face. I am also including the video of “We Are The World” The Live Aid musician collaboration to raise awareness of famine in Africa. Ever had one of those days where no matter how hard you tried it felt like you were going nowhere? One step forward and two steps back? This Far Side Cartoon reminded of when I needed “shepherding”
One Liner Wednesday again and time for a laugh with me on this Hump Day. I suppose I should look for a really profound quote to share with you, but I feel that my poetry each day can be rather serious. So instead let’s just enjoy a silly cartoon!
