Silent beating wings fanning the evening air The ruby-colored hummingbird appeared to me again answering my prayer On this eve of nuptials I crave its gentle presence To feel a willing spirit Taste nectar of orchids Surrounded by its essence Marveling at its size in this world of strength A tiny creature of weightless power staying at my arm’s length I receive its courage propelling me ahead An aging fear of unknown gently eased from my mind with words left unsaid He took flight and I knew he would not return His work was done the path became clear and my worries to unlearn Christine Bolton - Poetry for Healing © In response to Sadje's What Do You See?
