Religion Road

Religion Road

We are all heading to the same destination
just choosing a different way to get there
The highways and byways of religion
are jammed with the faithful
Frequent stops proselytizing
to the polite yet incurious
All with dogma to sell
But at what price?

Uneven Terrain

Uneven Terrain

The road is uneven
hindering progress
Slowing my stride
I tread carefully
not to slip
Concentrating
on each thought
and decisions made
What had brought
Me here?
Again
A lesson to be learned
What did I miss?
Always on this path
Going somewhere,
nowhere
Bent out of shape
from missteps
and life’s callous
punishments
I fear I will
always walk
with a limp

Word Prompt:

Callous - FOWC

The First Step

The First Step

The road is long
and not for the
faint-hearted
It will bend and twist
uphill and down
Unforgiving
and full of
pot holes
There is no choice
on this journey
of life
You will stumble
and fall
and at times
you will reach
a crossroads
where sometimes
you will stay
in neutral
Unsure
and unknowing
You will take
the wrong path
without question
but you will learn
from the mistake
and carry on
to the next junction
With experience
you will choose wisely
There are no shortcuts
on this road
called life
