Wounded Soul – A Somonka

Wounded Soul

Confused and lonely
Searching for somewhere to hide
Away from horror
I need to shut out the noise
and ugliness that haunts me

I can feel your pain
Come here where you will find peace
Speak your words to me
So your wounded soul may heal
and your heart begin to rest

In response to MLMM's Saturday Mix
Today we were prompted to write
a Somonka. The somonka is a Japanese form.
In fact, it’s basically two tankas written as
two love letters to each other (one tanka
per love letter). This form usually demands
two authors, but it is possible to have a poet
take on two personas.
