I felt your presence before I ever met you While waiting in a neutral state, marking time. Previous relationships in the history books No unresolved issues, I was ready to receive Where were you exactly? What did you still have to do? Trusting in the Universe and knowing it was just a matter of when, I found patience Then, miraculously you were there We had been dancing on the perimeter of each other’s lives Never knowing, never seeing, never touching The glass slipper you brought slipped easily on my foot Your hand in mine, strong and gentle, guiding me Your lips on my lips sending little electric shocks I knew then that it was you, and you had found me Copyright © 2021 Christine Bolton - Poetry for Healing All Rights Reserved Lillian is hosting Open Link Night at D'Verse Poets Stop by and read her hilarious April Fool's story and read some amazing poetry that has been submitted. As the last rays of sun
stretch down to touch the earth
and the final leaf falls from the tree
I will still be here, waiting
for you and all that it is worth
Let the darkness come
and smother me with dread
For I will soon know
whether you will finally come
or my fear will tear me to shreds
A lifetime spent in anticipation
of this moment to arrive
When love be requited
and we are together at last
so my heart will revive

D'Verse Poets - Waiting
Where feathers flutter to the earth
and the bamboo reaches the sky
On the morning grass covered in dew
Where the hedgerows are lined
with wild flowers intense with color
That’s where I will wait for you
Where the sun sets on the horizon
and the rain falls into the stream
In the forest where moonlight peeks through
Where the sunlight falls on a grassy meadow
Or glints in-between the trees
That’s where I will wait for you
When the oceans eventually run dry
And the sun falls from the sky
When the mountains crumble from view
When the earth finally comes to an end
And there is nothing left to see
That’s where I will wait for you

We all wait for something every day. Whether it’s the coffee brewing or standing in line at the grocery store. It’s a way of life, and to me, it is not a big deal, but many can’t abide waiting.
I have plenty of patience and never more so than when I was pregnant. The wait of nine months was an incredible journey of learning! Each trimester having its own special identity and feeling. Then at the end is priceless and precious gift!
