Tygpress is a thief – Do something about it

I know I am not alone in being upset with tygpress.com and it is heartwarming to see my fellow bloggers take this seriously. The theft of our copyrighted work is disgusting and unconscionable. This is all about advertising dollars and Google ranking for Tygpress and who knows what else.

Today I entered Tygpress into the WP Reader and was amazed at entry after entry about an Indian money game showing lottery numbers. I believe WordPress has to know what is going on and will eventually do something.

In the meantime please read the links below from some of our fellow bloggers who have gone into it in more depth than I have here, and use the badge above on all your posts. You will see there are things you can do to help and protect your sites. Maybe, the Site Scrapers, Digital Ocean (the host) and WordPress will know we are serious about the theft of our work.

    1. My pleasure G. WP told me yesterday that they are looking into it as the Reader is being ‘scraped’. You can read about it in Renard’s link. Also if you click on one of your ‘stolen’ posts, it will look just like it does in the Reader. That was spooky to see. 😕 WP has to look into it because they are compromised. They can not just blow us off saying it happens all the time.

  1. WP did indeed blow me off and I do not have a free blog either. It was quite irritating. But I did get Tygpress to stop reposting my stuff by emailing them directly and demanding it:

    waveban@gmail.com
    Cc to dmca@digitalocean.com

My new follower Amir suggested it, and I am very grateful. Bloggers helping each other! 💖

    1. Did they respond to your email Paula, or just take your posts down? I sent an email as you and Amir suggested.

      1. Amrut replied about 8 hours later and my posts were removed soon after. I searched again today to make sure they are still gone and they are. 🙂

  2. Ok, so I find my stuff there too. Huge surprise! Plus, virtually everyone else who’s even mentioned my blog AND. It isnt a site that I ascribe to nor am linked to such as tumblr, Instagram etc. Add that they didnt have my permission.
However, upon further inspection, yes, my stuff is on there BUT it is ascribed to myself as the author, FURTHERMORE, it has a ” read more” that is linked to my blog here at WP. Being as most bloggers are looking or even trying to find ways to greater exposure. It may not be such a bad thing? Perhaps it may bring my blog to the attention of others not associated with WP th as t may have otherwise, never heard of me.
One more place promoting my blog doesnt necessarily bother me. 😊

    1. Laura-I’ve been tempted to have exactly the attitude you have.

However, many of my pieces are short enough that my whole post is on there, oftentimes. While I stand to lose nothing from this monetarily, I do think this is highly problematic for people who do earn money from blogging, not to mention dishonest–in cases where the whole post is copied and pasted, they are making it as if it’s the content of their bloggers, not anyone from WordPress.

      1. Yes exactly Brendan. I have daily short posts of my own content that are not clickable for more content. Like you, the whole content is there. My work, not theirs! It is proprietary and copyrighted. It’s theft.

    2. I understand Laura. I’m not convinced that it will ultimately help you, but you are comfortable with it, and that’s what matters. The problem is, there is something fundamentally wrong with a website using someone else’s work, without permission, for their own benefit. It’s very wrong.

  3. I had no idea… So, do I just save the image above and post it on my works–or is the image copyrighted?? I appreciate your help–my blog is currently a free one, but I hope to upgrade soon.

    1. Hi Fleur, I just found your comment was in my spam box 😔 Sorry this did not get answered. It’s all over now, but yes you could have just copied it. Fandango from This, That and The Other blog created it especially so we could all use it to protest what they were doing 🙂

    1. It worked Fandango!! The site is DOWN!!!!! Paula had advised emailing and asking them to remove content. They advised they had removed my content, but they had only removed your badge!!!! I complained again and this morning Tygpress is claiming technical difficulties and it’s all gone. Congratulations! I know it was your badge 🙂👍
