Flushed – A Quadrille

Flushed

The light
left her eyes
unnoticed
His indignation
was center stage
It no longer mattered
who was right
or wrong
A joust for power
Oxygen feeding
the fire of dysfunction
A lifetime of giving
her everything flushed
away in one push
of a button

  1. You covered a lot of territory in 44 short words. Well done! I liked “a lifetime of giving flushed away” … so often happens.
