Lisa from Tao Talk is hosting D'Verse Poets tonight after its two week summer break. It is Monday Quadrille once more and Li has given us the word 'Turn' as the prompt. A quadrille is a poem of exactly 44 words, excluding the title.
I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose.
Thanks for checking it out.
Christine

I keep turning the pages and I still haven’t reached the last chapter, yet … Christine
Christine, your poem feels like a quiet encouragement to embrace the unknown. The idea of turning a page instead of the clock really speaks to me—hopeful and gently wise.

You’ll never know the answer to that one Jim, so I think you should never question it. Coulda, woulda, shoulda will drive you crazy 🤣

That would be a short ride for me.

Christine, you’re right, we don’t have time to look back, and the past will hold us from moving forward.

It’s fine to spend time looking back ….. as long as we don’t get stuck there.
Beautiful quadrille, Christine.

Thank you so much Nancy 🥰. Oh yes, it’s so lovely to reminisce and relive fond memories. Sadly some do get stuck in the past regretting their choices.

Definitely more exciting to turn the page; thank you for your straightforward encouragement.

No doubt that’s wise, but not always easy.

I agree Rosemary, sometimes it’s scary moving forward and it feels safer to stay put. We all have our own pace after all. ☺️❤️

Your poem makes so much sense to me, Christine. I’m currently on the verge of turning a page. I love all the different turns in your quadrille.

Sooner or later, though, all pages become the same; unworthy of the turn….

Hi Ron! It’s the chapters that generally make the turn, breaking the monotony. ☺️

Love this – it’s all right to visit the past every now and then, so long as we don’t dwell there too much ❤️❤️

We can’t change the past–we can only go forward, so I agree, we should embrace that!
(Though since I’m trained in history, I can’t ignore the past.) 😊

Thanks Merril. Ha, that’s funny. We learn from the past so time spent there is well spent. 🥰

Left of right – the destination is the same.
