Broken Dream – A Quadrille

Silence welcomed
as chatter finally ceased
The mind calmed
Agitation subsided
and a feeling of serenity prevailed

Nature the only sound
Birdsong soothed
while a soft breeze
gently fanned the soul
All was well
until the jabbering
of noisy passers by
broke the dream

  1. Give me birdsong every day, Christine, and I can do without the noisy passers-by. Thankfully, our village will be back to normal at the end of August, when the holiday makers have gone home. Silence welcomed indeed.
