Homecoming

Homecoming

Mesmerized by the silence
In awe of the beauty
surrounding me
I am consumed by
a sense of peace
and harmony

Distant sounds of music
Drifting in the wind
Beckoning me back home
I have been gone
for a long, long time
allowing myself to roam

As tenuous as the life
of a single bloom
on a dying rose tree
As was my existence
Full of angst and turmoil
always needing to flee

Wrapped in cobwebs
my thoughts and feelings
finally uncovered
My voice was heard
and the hidden ego
ultimately rediscovered

With time to breathe
clarity was found
by prioritizing actions
My confidence regained
plans could be made
without distractions

The chasm between us
can now be bridged
Ready to return
Back to you
Living our life together
Is what I yearn

Published by Christine Bolton

I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose. Thanks for checking it out. Christine

  1. this is clarity and clarity gives you power, the progression of the lines also reflect your journey to healing – this speaks powerfully to me

    1. I do tend to weave stories, don’t i? 🙂
I find it helps me to stay on track and helps me balance life’s challenges. My favorite thing to write though is poetry and stories about other people 💕
