Transition – A Haibun

Transition – A Haibun

Although we tend to look at a transition as something in forward motion and progressing, it can also represent a backward motion.  Personally I found a difficult transition was forcing myself to look back and face old demons that had been allowed to shape my life.  It was only by confronting them and choosing to do things differently that I could freely transition to a better place.

Racing to finish

On the wrong path to nowhere

A step back to win

I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose. Thanks for checking it out. Christine

  1. Your post reminds me of the saying… three steps forward and two steps back! As you have shown, two steps back is not always a bad thing for us. I like your haiku with the path to nowhere.

    1. Yes, thank you so much. We all need some self reflection and a look into the past ignorer to move forward 🙂

  2. so very true and practical if not extremely helpful, some say don’t dwell in the past but we need history to guide our future before we can relinquish it totally – my heart wants to hold yours Christine

    1. Thank you Gina. I knew you would understand the process. Acknowledging and understanding our past heals us. 🙂💕

  3. You’ve definitely hit on a truism here. A trasition can be through moving forward or moving/looking backward. Your haiku is perfect for this.
