Dreams

Dreams

Once when things were perfect
We would fantasize hilariously
Make up stories deliriously
Listing every aspect
To live in that cottage by the sea

We had a goal in sight
Our plans were not nebulous
Nothing we did was tenuous
For what we wanted we would fight
If anything, we were fastidious

Our life full of adventure
Dreaming boldly and big
Until you acted like a pig
Wanting release from indenture
Our love story snapped like a twig

Dreams dashed and broken
But only temporarily
I made a decision arbitrarily
Another word never spoken
I now live in that cottage by the sea

I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose. Thanks for checking it out. Christine
