Darkest Before The Dawn

A collection of challenges
Strewn on my pathway
Testing and trying
my resilience
Another dawn, another day
 
Just when my heart
Could take no more darkness
A sliver of light peeks
through the crack
and lifts me from the starkness
 
The cloud’s silver lining
reassuring in the moment of fear
Proof that life is ever changing
Decay and devastation
Do not always cohere
