Song Lyric Sunday – No

I must be psychic because I heard this old Bill Withers song earlier this week and thought I hope I get to use it for an upcoming Song Lyric Sunday. Well thanks to Jim Adams, our host again, I can! The theme is “NO” and there were plenty of songs to choose from. I love this one. It’s moody and heartfelt reflecting the agony of being apart from someone you love. Bill Withers wrote this song in 1971. I hope you enjoy it.

Lyrics
Ain't No Sunshine

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
It's not warm when she's away
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And she's always gone too long
Anytime she goes away

Wonder this time where she's gone
Wonder if she's gone to stay
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And this house just ain't no home
Anytime she goes away

And I know, I know, I know, I know,
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know
I know, I know,
Hey, I oughtta leave young thing alone
But ain't no sunshine when she's gone

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
Only darkness every day
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And this house just ain't no home
Anytime she goes away
Anytime she goes away
Anytime she goes away
Anytime she goes away
