Choices
Looking radiant in her white
She walks on her chosen route
Music fills the air
there are flowers in her hair
and she bites the forbidden fruit
Promises made to appease
and surely will be broken
The dance of life begins
Together they journey and
words will remain unspoken
Marching now to the beat
of another drum
In and out of time
not always in rhyme
A life will become undone
Two parts do not make a whole
Jagged pieces that jig and saw
Trying to fit
and never quit
Words caught in the craw
Up is now her down
In will always be his out
He says, she says
My way or the highway
What was it all about?

Very cleverly done, but sadly it’s too true.

no matter the topic or prompt you bring your own special flavour Christine, this makes me think of broken promises and lost hope, things we assign too heavily on others

Thank you Gina 🙂💕 I tend to think people just make poor choices sometimes. Often blinded by love or promises of something better 😢

you touched a nerve there – promises – what are they really? sometimes maybe we read too much into it and get let down. yes the something better is a great delusion. thank you for your response Christine, you have given me some food for thought.

I am always optimistic Gina. Even after all these years. Where there’s hope, we must always believe, right? Anything else would be cynical 😔
Thanks for always reading my words 🙂💕
