Forgettable
When you left
You took away
the morning sunshine
The verdant earth
lay dying and the sea
shrank from the coastline
A blanket of darkness
Obscuring and distorting
Enveloping my world
A maelstrom in fury
Whipping, lashing
Emotions hurled
Struggling to stabilize
Before drowning
in your wake
Unsteady, frightful
Clinging to hope
Is this all a mistake?
As I wallow in this mire
I realize my error
I gave you free rein
To do as you wished
Taking everything from me
Was I insane?
Luckily, I saw the light
At the end of the tunnel
It restored my trust
Meanwhile I now
only think of you
if I absolutely must
