Compassion
A word proof
of love so deep
that one would scale
a mountain steep
Love of oneself
laid aside
two become one
impossible to divide
Bleeding love
Easing another’s pain
Tireless, fearless
Impossible to feign
Shouldering a load
and releasing resentments
Feelings harbored
Reaffirming commitments

This is so beautiful Christine – “love of oneself laid aside” seems to be the crux, doesn’t it? Compassion takes us out of ourself.
