Space to Breathe

Space to Breathe

Weary as your scapegoat
I search for a sanctuary
Needing solace to heal
my thoughts, now fragmentary
A place where I may weep
with no fear of scorn
Having lost self-respect
and for that I mourn

Stillness and peace
comfort me here
Being lost in the stillness
not missing the fear
My thoughts uninterrupted
bringing needed serenity
Finding myself again
after losing identity

A small haven
where no one goes
My heart can regenerate
its love, as tension slows
Meditation brings relief
as I look back at my soul
I can see clearly now
Once again, I am whole

I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose. Thanks for checking it out. Christine

  1. I can completely empathize with this, having been there. This beautiful and you must of suffered to be able to write this way. I hope you are free and healed 💜💜💜

    1. Thank you Willow. Yes, sadly many of us go through these things but I am free and healed. I hope you are too ❤️
