Liar, Liar

Liar, Liar

Oh, how the mighty have fallen
Like the descending leaves of Autumn
Pointless to nurture this self-importance
And the blind denial of inadvertence

With integrity always in question
To blow one’s own trumpet an obsession
No inventory of achievements
And pathetic service deferments

Your adversaries looking for peace
Wishing boastful outbursts would cease
Calling you out on your phony claims
Watching your fake news go up in flames

I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose. Thanks for checking it out. Christine

  1. He has no shame
    He has no name
Life for him is a game
Life for him is someone else’s blame
    He will not be remembered
He will not be a heavenly member
He’s full of money and greed
That’s the arrogance of his breed

      1. Haha, it’s only 6.00am here, I’ve just turned the heater on. Only 1’C at the moment outside. I’ll wait for my room to warm up a bit. Then I’ll get onto my computer soon

  2. I have detested politics since I was young and my own parents helped at such campaigns and functions taking time away from the family.

Some politicians more than others need to relearn how to do politics and it isn’t by playing ‘birdie’. To me that just shows ignorance of what is important.

  3. I have always had a healthy interest in politics. However, now, it has polarized this country. Broken up marriages and partnership and drawn a line in the sand. it is a sad state of affairs 😢
