Touch – Poem of the Month – January, 2020

Touch

The power of touch
One stroke of a hand
infusing energy
into a worn-down body
Shooting through veins
A much needed
euphoria producing drug
The simplicity
of the act
yielding results
Impossible to gauge
the enormity
of the action
Yet infrequently used
As if too personal
Invading another’s space
When sometimes
the silent cry from within
must be heard
The humanity of action
to supersede the insanity
of what we have become

I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose. Thanks for checking it out. Christine

  1. I love where you went with this poem. Indeed if we did more or more of us felt and offered a helping hand, we would be in a better place.
