Crying Eyes

Crying Eyes

A cathartic cry
escaping lungs
long-time loaded
Pain languishing
In hollow heart
finally released

Waterfall of tears
washing away
debris of dead love
Harbored hopelessly
until now, exorcised
from a hateful hell

I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose. Thanks for checking it out. Christine

  1. You did crying justice here, Christine. I like how you highlighted the ways google said that crying is not a sign of weakness. If that were the case, I’d be the weakest person on the planet. I cry all of the time, for all sorts of reasons.

    1. Thanks Lisa. Sometimes it’s all you have. I never see anything wrong about crying. It’s a release even the most stoic person needs from time to time. 🥰

  2. This is beautifully evocative! 💝 For me, crying is a sign of one who has held on and been strong for a long time.

  3. You have described something I seem to do a lot of lately in a palpable poem, Christine, especially the ‘Waterfall of tears / washing away / debris’.

  4. Oh, Christine! This is so wonderful. I had to take a lungful of air as I read it, because I’ve felt this release, so healing, & “cathartic”.

    1. Dear Dora, thank you so much. We have all been there at one time or another and we just have to let it go. Crying is a medicine after all. ☺️

  5. Hi Christine! I’m a day late getting around to reading others poems, but I’m glad I got to read this one. Seems to be a lot of crying eyes in the world these days. Really enjoyed how you worked with that theme, well written.
