The Devil Within

In the shadows
of the mind
Vile thoughts 
reside in
cavernous corners
Tricking us
Fooling us
into believing 
there is nothing,
only darkness
But in the black
they lay in wait
until we choose
to entertain them
Throwing light
Giving them life
Until they inhabit
our being with
iniquity
and hypocrisy
