I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose.
Thanks for checking it out.

Very dark and looming, but indeed well written. Quite a journey to read this piece and the images attached to it figuratively; you express it beautifully and poetically.
You always make me feel better Lucy! I was not too happy with it. It felt rushed and I that I should have taken more time in it 😧. Thank you so much for your kind words. 🥰
Other people’s mind maps are nothing like our own, Christine, and we can never second-guess them. I like the way you conveyed this and the idea of roads becoming twisted veins.
A road map of my mind, I’d never thought of it quite that way and it makes perfect sense. I’ve always wanted to tell you how stunning your blog header is.
Oh, this makes me think of a character in a book I just finished. His name was Gregorovich in “To Sleep in a Sea of Stars” by Paolini. Wonderful book if you like sci-fi. You could have written this poem for him.
Thank you Debi. How interesting! It pleases me that my poem reminded you of something 🙂
I remember many years ago when I first visited an Acupuncturist. I studied a poster on his wall showing the human body and it looked like a road map. He explained how everything in the body is connected and that his needles would be placed in areas that seem strange but would help the pain elsewhere. I never quite got that image out of my head and I guess it was inspiration for my poem ☺️
A powerful write. Reflection vs rumination…..meditation vs ruminating. “others dragging me
down into a coagulated mire” ….these are just visceral in their emotions…these are the memories that can be so painful and searing and if not let go, can take us into the pit of despair. Ruminating….has that negative connotation.
Dark and brooding indeed.
Thank you Lillian. I love your feedback and appreciate it so much. At times I have been in those dark places that are painful. However I wrote this poem having come out on the other side. I had tried so hard to comprehend a situation and my thoughts took me on this journey of how we are all different inside. We all process things differently as likely we are “wired” differently. I hope that makes sense ☺️
Well done Christine!
