Seeds of Doubt – A Quadrille

Seeds of Doubt

When did he stop listening
she wondered
Once, everyone forgets
Twice, he’s losing it!
Daily, so it seems
He’s not listening at all

The sudden realization
something is wrong
Seeds of doubt germinate
Taking root, spreading
Faster than ink drying
on a divorce decree

  1. I feel the anxiety of the narrator here and the doubts spreading fear. Nice take on how fear germinates when we don’t address it properly and just confront it head on!

    1. Yes, we can all relate as those seed of doubt come from our gut instinct which is usually reliable. 😢

    1. It is definitely not intentional David ☺️ My poetry is just an awareness and acknowledging what some people experience.

    1. Thank you Rob. I really appreciate that. It’s hard to condense it all sometimes isn’t it?

  2. Out of the box and sobering approach to the challenge. Sad but true and very well written.

    1. Yes, someone else said that too. I wasn’t thinking dementia but I understand how it could apply. At least the first part of the quadrille. Thanks so much Helen ☺️🌺
