Changing Of The Guard Tableau

The sun sinks low
Casting long shadows
In its orange glow
The air feels cooler
Autumn is knocking
Ready to come in

Soon colors will change
Leaves will fall from trees
Covering the ground
In quilts of deadness
Barren sky turns grey
And the crows will caw

  1. Your imagery burned off my laptop screen to warm me this chilly September morning, Christine. A stunning portrait of an autumn sunset, and I love the echo of the crows!

  2. We’re heading into my favorite seasons. I love what Autumn does to the world when she slumbers: teaches us so much. I open wide my door to Autumn. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Lovely tableau.
