Petals of Haiku – An Anthology Published by Literary Revelations

I have four Haiku included

Back in the Spring when I was still on my leave of absence from blogging, Literary Revelations published Petals of Haiku, An Anthology, and included four of my Haiku! It is a beautiful compilation of Haiku from poets around the world. The book is available on Amazon.com and is currently a best seller in the category.

footsteps in the sand
imprinted for just moments
taken by the sea

silvery moonlight
with a canopy of stars
lighting the night sky

a gossamer mist
sitting above the water
mysterious sight

sky of tangerine
swirling with the greys of night
shaking off darkness

I was thrilled of course and it was the push I needed to return to writing, but on my terms. For six years I had committed to writing and publishing an Haiku each day, every day. That is over 2,000 Haiku! In addition to following all the other poetry and writing prompts that were available to me and reading and commenting on others’ work. It was an exhausting task. I was struggling to keep up and had stopped enjoying it. So now my Haiku come less frequently and have become anecdotal rather than a chore. The poetry, well that will always be there, but I choose when and what to write instead of making myself the hamster on a wheel.
