Find him, they said
I took the note bearing your name
Unpronounceable
I rose to the challenge
Suddenly there you were
Friendly, handsome
You knew my name too
Mesmerized
We discovered much in nano seconds
Then you were whisked away
Still holding my heartstrings

Lisa from TaoTalk is hosting Monday Quadrille at D’Verse. The prompt word tonight is ‘String’. It can be used as a verb, noun or adjective and be in the form of a Quadrille. A poem of exactly 44 words excluding the title.
Love how you used the prompt word, Christine! And I’m intrigued by the word mesmerized; it could be a noun, as in your name, or a verb, as in hypnotized. It’s wonderful for the readers to have the ability to interpret what we feel from your beautiful quad. Very nicely write!

Thank you so much Nancy. I loved your take on it. 44 words required some editing so theres always a risk an important word being omitted could alter to context of the poem 😕 oh well 🤣🤣

You’re most welcome, Christine. And I hear ya! My husband’s always asking how I can write anything in 44 words. I don’t think he believed me when I told him one of the blogs I follow asked for a story in 23 words including the prompt word!
Buonanotte!

Christine, this makes me think of that old Sinatra song, “Strangers in the Night.” I think of her years later wondering if he was just a dream…

This has a dream quality as often in dreams things drift away quickly.

A vivid but brief encounter, and one that still has its heart-grip: told beautifully, Christine.
