Engraved on the Heart

Words of love spoken
will be remembered
long after they have left
the lips
and will be engraved
on the heart

Words of spite angrily delivered
will be chiseled much deeper
never to be forgotten
Time will not soften
the edges easily
If ever

  1. I think words bruise deeper than physical violence, because we are built to forget physical pain. You’ve captured that so well in your quadrille Christine.
