Addicted To You

You were the drug that dragged me down
I was addicted to you
Dependent on you
Giving away little pieces of myself
for more of you
I became a shadow of myself
Not recognizing who I had become
Succumbing to the drug, which was you
Allowing you to control me
Offering me more and more of it
Until I could not cope without you
You were my dealer
My dope peddler
My candy man
You had me hooked
and you knew it
I reached rock bottom
From there the only way out was up
I can see clearly now
and you are not in the picture anymore

  1. ha – it is dangerous to get addicted to another human believe me…expectations and disappointment at every corner. Thank goodness there is a thing called recovery.
