Traveling In Time

That first kiss
Wakened a thousand years
Of an unknown history 

An immediate connection
Evidence in every sense
Of a past shared

What did it mean?
A purpose other than
the sensual wonder of familiarity 

Time would tell as actions
Both thrilled and disappointed 
In turbulent waters

Something that had to be experienced 
A debt from a previous lifetime
Needing to be paid in full

There would be no victor
Only two souls reunited
Destined to go separate ways
