I am wild and not like you
I am not elusive or rare
but omnipresent
To be found
everywhere you look, if only
you would really see me
In the grass and between
the cracks in the pathway
of your life

Overlooked and annoying
I grow where no one expects
me to flourish, because I can
Pretty and yellow, like the sun
Strong and resilient
Multiplying in numbers
and sometimes overwhelming
My appearance
not always welcome

Yet, when noticed I am pleasing
to the eye for my brightness
but do not always belong
in another’s vision of beauty
If left alone, my life cycle
would ultimately give pleasure in
its transformation

To be plucked and played with
Soft lips gently blowing
on my lightness
Sending me in a million directions
Giving joy with my ability to fly
and granting wishes to those
who would ask, allowing me to
entertain for just brief moments
before being born again
and try once more for happiness

Tranquility – Anthology

Five of my Haiku are included

Feathery pink sky
Escapes the clutch of nighttime
Welcome to the day

In silence pebbles
skim water's surface
and will see nothing

I am wrapped in peace
Nature’s embrace holds me tight
and I become strong

Kingfisher so blue
Sitting at the water’s edge
Surveying his realm

Loneliness cuts deep
Into the human psyche
Leaving lasting scars

Inner calm is found
With a life of harmony
Forgiveness and peace

Petals of Haiku – Anthology

Four of my Haiku are included

footsteps in the sand
imprinted for just moments
taken by the sea

silvery moonlight
with a canopy of stars
lighting the night sky

a gossamer mist
sitting above the water
mysterious sight

sky of tangerine
swirling with the greys of night
shaking off darkness
