Blank Canvas

Blank Canvas

I cry a thousand tears
Into the night
My heart as heavy
as the darkness
The sadness
of losing your love
brings such sorrow
leaving the sky starless

Like a death
I must mourn
Grief overwhelms
and I see no escape
The hurt is intolerable
but deep down I know
in time there will
be a new landscape

With tomorrow comes
morning light
and clearing of clouds
Signaling expectation
The canvas is blank
White and pristine
waiting for my
new coloration

I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose. Thanks for checking it out. Christine

  1. Your poem rings true, for a love lost, and in time the bell rings again… I’m send my friends this incredible new video of Leonard Cohen’s brilliant poem, “Happens to The Heart”…. I think you enjoy this…….xxx
