Love is More

As surely as a brook
will babble
or an eagle soar
or a candle 
blows in the wind
Love for you
remains certain,
unwavering
 
It is sometimes
fraught with tension
or filled with anger
as we wrestle
existential pressures
Yet it is strong
Perpetual and everlasting
in its uniqueness 
 
Often misunderstood
and disregarded
as blindness
by those who
stand in judgement
and cast doubt
on its worthiness 
What do they know?
 
They perceive love
as only tender and giving,
quiet and soft
Complete harmony
But love is more
It is challenging
with opposing forces
that fiercely bring change 
 
In the aftermath
comes growth
New realities
and possibilities
Continually evolving
Teasing, exciting
as its foundation
strengthens
