Fearfulness

Fearfulness

As darkness falls
who will light your shadows
when the moon
does not appear?
Fearful and afraid
of ghosts from the past
who will protect you?
It is still unclear

Who will guide
you with wisdom
through life’s
temporal minefields?
Lead you through
fire and fury
Harboring safely with
love’s assuring shield

As the sky lights
with daybreak
clarity and possibility
reign supreme
Anxieties wane,
fears subside and
unnecessary nightmares
become a daydream

I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose. Thanks for checking it out. Christine

    1. Thank you Sue. I’m still like this today even though my son is grown with children of his own. We will always worry about them ❤️

  1. Christine,

Thanks for stopping by the Go Dog Go Cafe today and sharing this poem about hope, a song we all need to hear from time to time. Wonderful writing and wonderful message.

    Thank you

  2. I love your first stanza Christine, what will we do when there’s no moonlight, something we trust will appear on a scheduled time, your words ignite deep ruminations. I love how you created this piece contrasting dark and light.
