I see in your unforgiving eyes the things that you will now never know The love I gave you freely regardless of your faults An extended family that loves without question or judgement For you have never known such a love and do not recognize it Instead you fight it, scream at it and punish it until it perishes before your eyes Happiness sabotaged and you reign triumphant feeling vindicated for your actions
I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose.
Thanks for checking it out.

Great write, some people don’t know how lucky they are.
Yes indeed Christine, lots of truth here – so sad how many seem compelled to undermine their own blessings and I’m sure we’ve all come across this in our lives so fa – especially in those we care for and try to help… And so often, the more you try to stop this process, the more determined they seem to press on with it. Each of us has our own destiny and indeed karma, I guess… But can be so frustrating sometimes – but then again, what do we know?? One day it might all make sense… All of us ultimately on our own journey and with our own lessons to learn..
Thank you Scott. You understand. It is so sad because the person in question has clearly been hurt as a child when love was weaponized and taken away at will. There is no wonder all relationships are destined to suffer. I appreciate your words ☺️
I heard of a recent divorce settlement with 10 million INR. The divorce after 3 months of marriage had no ostensible reason, and I couldn’t help thinking how silly the girl is. 10X the amount could have been hers, had she stayed, given the size of her husband’s assets.
Yes Reena. These things rarely make sense from the outside looking in. She obviously reached her “deal breaker” point and couldn’t stay any longer, regardless of settlement. Relationships are very complicated.
I read your About Me Christine so understand your words are from your heart.
Until I retired, I worked in Mental Health and came across many a good person permanently damaged having being raised in a fractured family (I do not like the labelling term dysfunctional).
Despite your pain, it appears you have been able to break free from the destructive cycle and understand the true meaning of love as in
“An extended family
that loves without
question or judgement”
(which I presume is your husband and ?children)
I am glad your poetry has given you a voice and you can talk freely of your hurt, and I hope your writing is truly cathartic.
Much admiration

Dear Anna, thank you so much for your kind and very perceptive words. Yes, you are a professional 😊. You read between the lines of my poem and understood. Thank you. Yes, it was a personal poem and it helped to write it. Unfortunately he has far more ghosts in his past than I do, so it is challenging to say the least.
I really appreciated your kindness. Thank you and please visit from time to time 🥰
Sometimes people don’t realize how much others do for them. They fail to appreciate love and concern which is directed towards them. But we still care about them, don’t we?

I wonder why it is difficult for some people to accept love! How distressing for those who love unconditionally.

A sad story. There are those who grasp defeat from the jaws of victory and, unknowing, say I told you so! So sad.

How sad really but each one of us are different and respond to things differently. We all have our crosses to bear and journeys to walk!
