For today’s prompt the challenge is to choose AT LEAST THREE RHYME SETS These are:- SPEECH/REST/BEACH ON/SEA/UPON WORD/BREATH/BIRD WAY/SOUND/BAY SUNG/LIPS/TONGUE -Write your poem as a rhyming tercet of 3 line stanzas though a composite 9 liner or more would do just as well - Strict meter is not a requirement but for an extra challenge try pentameter (10 syllables to each line) - You do NOT have to follow the ordered sequence of the above - You may reverse the order of the 1st & 3rd words but otherwise keep the integrity of each rhyme set
I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose.
Thanks for checking it out.

I am amazed how they make such sounds without any lips.
Good idea. I was standing outside the house the other day and a bird was singing his heart out. So many different sounds. I looked up to the roof and there was the Mockingbird siting on the chimney stack. It was really lovely 🥰
Really lovely Christine – and that last stanza is certainly something I would pray for. Beautifully said and you have made the rhyme sets your own with this poem. Thank you for joining in with the prompt
Lovely. I feel the same way. I miss getting out to walk in the forest. But my husband thinks it is best for me with a defibrillator and allergies to stay in. I never thought to live through a plague, and I pray this one is short-lived.

Very nice!
No sweeter a sound to be sung
From creatures without any lips
And least of all an unusual tongue

Thank you Laura. I enjoyed this challenge but it did scare me a little. Can a beak be the equivalent of lips? I hope so 🤣
