Truth

Truth

You were
my king
my idol
I worshipped you
each day
bringing you
gifts of fruit
and flowers
touched by sunshine
kissed with tears
and made
with my love

You feasted
on my bounty
and reclined in
the warmth
of my passion
Enjoying
the relief of my
rescue
I filled the
emptiness
in your dark heart
and became
your doormat

I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose. Thanks for checking it out. Christine

    1. Yes, I wasn’t sure where I was going with and that’s where I ended up! 🙂

    1. Thank you. Luckily not me Ivor but I’m sure many have fallen into that trap sometime in their lives 😢
