Imprisoned

Imprisoned

Trapped in a prison
of memory
Alone with
a heart destroyed
Watching hopes
and dreams go
around and round
like a circle
in a spiral
spinning
downwards
out of control
Impossible
to save them
No desire to
try anymore
Accepting of
the cruel fate that
robbed me of you
Leaving me with
thoughts of what
might have been

I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose. Thanks for checking it out. Christine

    1. Thank you my friend. The way we have to look at it is there are always more dreams. Sometimes we feel all is lost – forever, but it isn’t. We are resilient and we can come back from the disappointment and pain 😢💕

    1. Oh my gosh Kim I’m so sorry. What s horrible disease for all concerned. I’ve been learning a lot about it lately and I feel so much empathy for the patient and the family. Such a difficult condition to manage 😢

    1. There’s always a door for everyone to get through. Sometimes they just need help believing it and then finding it. Thanks Bjorn 😊
