Achromatic Existence

Achromatic Existence

Your blackness
sullies my clear mind
My whiteness dilutes
your darkness
to a neutral grey
Clinging to
a colorless world
that has become
the oxygen
we breathe
into this dysfunctional
codependency
An anemic sadness
void of pigment
Trust severed
like an amputated
albinistic limb
Limping through an
achromatic existence

I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose. Thanks for checking it out. Christine

    1. You were my muse this morning Punam. I just followed your lead with a colorless world. Except yours was more romantic than my angst-filled poem 😦

      1. Aww! Thank you for saying that. It is so wonderful, isn’t it, how we inspire and get inspired from each other. There are usually two side to any story. Both of us have given our readers that. I loved your take. 🥰

      1. Hi! I am now but this piece took me to a place I’ve felt before. It was a pleasure to read this piece specifically because it was so evocative. 🙂
